1-4 1st man and 2nd woman set, approaching, and turn by the right hand back to places.

5-8 1st woman and 2nd man set, approaching, give right hands and dance on, 1st woman casting up round 1st man, 2nd man casting off round 2nd woman (see Figure 1).

9-12 These two continue to circle clockwise. The other two turn right about and follow their partners. All finish on "wrong" sides, 1st couple in second place, 2nd at top.

13-16 1st and 2nd couples turn by the right hand one and a half times to own sides.

17-20 2nd and 3rd couples set, approaching, and turn by the right hand back to places.

21-24 1st couple set, approaching, and turn by the right hand once round so that the man is facing up and the woman down.

25-28 1st man dances up and casts off round 2nd man, while 1st woman dances down and casts up round 3rd woman.

29-32 1st couple turn by the left hand once round to own sides, 2nd place, while 2nd and 3rd men - and women - turn by the right hand once round to places (see figure 2).

Repeat, having passed a couple.
