1-4 1st and 2nd couples dance half right and left.

5-8 They set to partners and cross to own sides, giving right hands.

9-12 1st, 2nd and 3rd couples dance two hands of a Grand Chain: giving right hands, 2nd couple cross and 1st and 3rd men – and women – change places; then, giving left hands, 1st couple cross and 2nd woman and 3rd man – and 2nd man and 3rd woman – change places.

13-16 3rd coupe set and cross over, giving right hands. 1st and 2nd men – and women – set and change places, the men giving left hands and the women right hands (see diagram 1). 1st couple is now facing in, while 2nd and 3rd face out.

17-20 Half reels of three at the sides: to begin, 1st couple dance up inside 3rd (see diagram 2). 2nd and 3rd couples end by circling into places.

21-24 1st couple turn by the right hand slowly once round. 2nd and 3rd stand for two bars and, on 23-24, turn by the right hand quickly once round and the three couples form a circle of six.

25-28 They dance six hands round to the left (about three quarters round), then drop hands and

29-30 Chase round to sidelines, ‘wrong’ sides (see diagram 3), and

31-32 All cross back to own sides, giving right hands.

Repeat, having passed a couple.
