1-4 1st and 2nd couples oross over, giving right hands, and circle four hands half round to the left.

5-8 They cross over again, giving left hands, and circle half round to the right.

9-16 1st and 2nd couples dance rights and lefts.
3rd and 4th couples do what 1st and 2nd did for 1-8.

17-18 1st and 3rd couples cros over, giving right hand, and

19-20 1st and 2nd form a circle and danoe four hands half round to the left.
3rd and 4th do the same. All end on the sidelines.

21-24. All dance half a Grand Chain: to begin, 2nd couple, at top, and 3rd, in 4th place, face partners: 1st and 4th face each other.

25-26 1st and 4th couples change places, giving right hands, and form a circle.

27-28 1st and 4th couples dance four hands half round to the left. 2nd and 3rd cross, giving right hands, and all eight form a circle.

29-32 All dance eight hands half round to the left.

33-36 1st and 2nd men set to each other, while 1st and 2nd women change places, giving right hands, and they circle four hands half round to the left.
3rd and 4th couples do the same.

37-40 1st and 2nd women set to each other, while 1st and 2nd men change places, giving left hands, and they circle half round to the right.
3rd and 4th couples do the same.

41-44 1st and 3rd couples set and cross over, giving right hands, while 2nd and 4th turn by the right hands once round. All end on the 'wrong' sides, form a circle and

45-48. Dance eight hands half round to the left. They end on own sides in the order 4, 3, 2, 1.

They repeat once more from their new positions.
