1-4 1st couple turn by the right hand once round to places.

5-8 1st couple turn by the left hand once round to places.
3rd couple turn by the right hand once round to places.

9-12 1st man casts off, followed by his partner, and they end in 3rd place.
3rd woman casts up, followed by her partner, and they end in top place.
2nd couple turn by the right hand once round to places.

13-16 1st woman casts off, followed by her partner, and they end below 4th couple, in the centre of the dance with right hands joined.
3rd man casts off, followed by his partner, and they end in their original places.
2nd couple turn by the left hand once round to places.
4th couple turn by the right hand once round to places.

17-20 1st couple turn by the right hand once round, moving up to 3rd place, centre of the dance (2nd and 3rd move up on 17-18).

21-24 1st and 3rd couples dance left hands across, ending with 1st man facing down and 3rd woman facing up.
2nd and 4th couples dance round them clockwise to end: 2nd woman in 4th man's place, 4th man in 1st woman's place, 2nd man in 3rd woman's place, facing down, 4th woman in 2nd man's place, facing up.

25-28 Half reels of three on the sides. It is as if they started with all the men facing down and all the women facing up: on the women's side, 4th man, 3rd woman, 2nd man, 1st woman: on the men's side, 3rd man, 4th woman, 1st man, 2nd woman. At the end of the half reel they will be in the order 1 2 3 4 on the women's side and 2 1 4 3 on the men's side.

29-32 2nd and 4th couples turn partners by the right hands 1½ times to their original places. 1st and 3rd women are in the original places. 1st and 3rd men move up to their original places on 31-32.

33-34 1st and 2nd couples wheel, right hands across half round.

35-36 1st and 3rd couples wheel, left hands across half round.

37-38 1st and 4th couples wheel, right hands across half round.

39-40 1st and 4th cross to own sides, giving right hands to partners.

41-48 All take hands at the sides while setting.
2nd couple set to the right, turn by the left hands 1½ times and set to the left.
3rd couple set right and left and turn by the right hand 1½ times.
4th couple set right, left, right, turn by the left hand once round and set left.
1st couple set right, left, right, left and turn by the right hand once round.
