1-4 1st couple cross over giving the right hand, cast off one place and meet in the middle giving the right hand again.

5-8 They turn partner round with the right hand then first man casts off round second woman to face his first corner while first woman casts up round third man to finish back to back with her partner facing her first corner.

9-10 First couple set to first corners turning by the right on the second step to face each other and still in a diagonal line with first corners. Figure 1.

11-12 First couple turn once round with the right hand and, retaining hands, join left hand with first corner.

13-14 All balance in line.

15-16 First couple turn with the right hand to finish facing second corners.

17-18 First couple set to second corners turning by the right on the second step to face each other in a diagonal line with second corners. Figure 2.

19-20 First couple turn once round with the right hand and, retaining hands, join left hand with second corner.

21-22 All balance in line.

23-24 First couple turn second corners with the left hand and finish the turn ready to dance toward first corners. Figure 3.

25-28 First couple turn first corners with the right hand then curve round to pass each other by the right shoulder while corners dance round into place.

29-32 First couple turn second corners with the right hand then cross to own sides passing by the right shoulder while corners dance round into place.

Repeat, having passed a couple.

Devised in March 1970 for General Sir Neil Ritchie, retiring Patron of the Branch. The first and last figures are quite fast and require a good skip-change of step.
