32 bar Strathspey : 4 couples

Music : South of the Grampians - Kerr - traditional

1-4 first and third couples dance for bars of Petronella while second and fourth couples cast up on bars 1-2 and set on bars 3-4.

5-8 first and third couples turn three quarters round with both hands to finish facing up the dance, the men with their partners on their left. They lead up and cast off on opposite sides round second and fourth couples respectively, ready for Grand Chain.

9-16 Grand Chain, second and third couples crossing over to start while the others give right hands on the sides. First and third men omit the polite turn at the end.

(17-24) Second and first couples, and fourth and third couples, dance The Shuttle.
17-18 first and third couples cross back to their own sides giving right hands in passing.
19-20 All couples, approaching, set to partner and finish in the middle with both hands joined, each at an angle to own sides. Figure 1.
21 First and third couples dance diagonally up and out to the women's side while second and fourth couples dance diagonally down and out to the men's side. Figure 2.
22-24 All couples dance into the middle on the new diagonal, then turn partner about three quarters round and dance out to own sidelines. Figure 3.

25-32 First couple, approaching, set to each other, turn once round with both hands to face down, then dance down the middle and curve round the long way into fourth place. Second, third and fourth couples step up on bars 31-32.

Repeat with a new top couple.
