The David Findlay Jig

4 couple set. 4 x 48 bar Jig.

1-6 1st, 2nd and 3rd couples dance reels of three on own sides:-
1st couple dance in and down, 2nd couple dance out and up while 3rd couple dance in and up to begin reels.

7-8 1st and 2nd men change places giving right hands while 1st and 2nd ladies change places giving left hands. (2nd couple now complete the dance to the end).

9-16 2nd couple dance a half figure of eight round 1st couple to 1st place on wrong side giving left hands in crossing cast off to 2nd place on own side. 1st couple moving up on last 2 bars.

17-18 2nd couple turn each other right hands to face 1st corner.

19-20 2nd couple turn 1st corner left hands.

21-22 2nd couple turn each other right hands to face 2nd corner.

23-24 2nd couple turn 2nd corner left hands to finish 2nd man between 1st couple in line of three nearer hands joined facing down the dance while 2nd lady finishes between 3rd couple in line of three facing up with nearer hands joined.

25-28 1st, 2nd and 3rd couples in lines of three advance and retire.

29-32 2nd couple only turn each other left hand to finish in 2nd place on own side.

33-40 2nd couple dance diagonal rights and lefts with 1st and 3rd couples to finish 1st couple in 3rd place on wrong side, 2nd couple in 2nd place on own side, 3rd couple in 1st place on wrong side.

41-44 2nd man with 1st couple and 2nd lady with 3rd couple dance half reel of three, 3rd couple in 1st place own side, 1st couple dance into 2nd place own side, while

45-48 2nd couple cross below 1st couple and cast behind 4th couple own side to 4th place. (2nd lady passes in front of her partner when crossing over). 4th couple moving up on last 2 bars.

Note: Dance continues with a new top couple.
